The Opportunity

 

Carlson Design Group is seeking a creative, highly talented Design Project Manager III to join our engineering team as part of our expanding business. Carlson’s market focus includes Mission Critical, Light Industrial, Financial Services, and Commercial sectors. Our design philosophy centers on listening, understanding, and executing solutions that are compelling, technically sound, resilient, and fiscally responsible.

 

Location: Atlanta, GA, includes some travel

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the principal point of contact for the company on assigned projects from beginning to end
  • Manage design, production and coordination of large or complex projects
  • Responsible for fiscal performance of the projects
  • Manage Contract Administration process between the design team and the contractor
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines, manufacturers and vendors
  • Act as liaison between the client and the design team
  • Responsible for ensuring the scope of work is shown on the contract documents and coordination with other disciplines
  • Responsible for project reporting to senior leadership
  • Establish and ensure compliance with project schedules
  • Manage contractual scope and change orders

Qualifications

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Structural Engineering firm
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed work ethic
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering
