Overview

Carlson Design Group is seeking a highly talented Structural Engineer I to join our engineering team as part of our expanding business. Carlson’s market focus includes Mission Critical, Light Industrial, and Commercial sectors.

 

Location: Atlanta, GA, and includes some travel

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead development of design solutions on projects of limited complexity
  • Prepare structural analyses and perform engineering calculations
  • Support the Structural Team Lead on sophisticated projects
  • Prepare schematic designs, Construction Documents, and specifications
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of Construction Documents
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Review shop drawings and submittals
  • Conduct field inspections and condition assessments
  • Prepare technical reports

Qualifications

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • BSCE in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (RAM structural suite, preferred), AutoCAD, and Revit  
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Understanding of model codes
