    Carlson Design Group is actively seeking a creative, highly talented business development manager to be a part of our expanding business.

     

    Carlson’s market focus is Mission Critical, Financial Services, Light Industrial, and Commercial. We are specifically looking for an individual who can grow our Mission Critical sector.

    Responsibilities

    Our business development professionals have three primary responsibilities:

    1. Identify new sales opportunities
    2. Represent the company in soliciting services
    3. Establish new business relationships and maintain relationships with existing clients

    Day-to-day responsibilities include:

    • Research organizations and individuals to identify new leads
    • Screens potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities.
    • Research the needs of target companies and identify decision makers for design firm selection and purchasing
    • Contact potential clients via email, social media or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
    • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events

    Additionally:

    • Prepare sales presentations
    • Maintain contact with clients to inform them about new developments in the company and identify new opportunities
    • Develop sales goals for the team and ensure they are met
    • Develop negotiating strategies and Guide proposal development
    • Assist in successfully closing business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts

     

    Business Development Executive Skills

     

    To be an effective business development executive at Carlson Design Group, an individual must have the following skills:

    Qualifications

    • Proven working experience as a business development manager or sales manager
    • Proven sales track record
    • Market knowledge
    • Communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to build rapport
    • Time management and planning skills
    • 10 years of experience
    • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
    • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
    • Proficiency in English
