Overview

Provide overall leadership and responsibility for the successful management of all fleet vehicles, owned motorized equipment, and national equipment rental agreements under the direction of the Procurement/Accounting Leadership and in close collaboration with the Depot Manager.

Responsibilities

Fleet Vehicles

  • Manage and be the point of contact for the Walbridge Fleet Vehicle Program 
  • Be the point of contact with Enterprise Fleet Management 
  • Enforce Branding Policy and report and violations to Depot Manager / Business Unit Manager 
  • With the direction of CFO dispatch vehicle to employees 
  • Be the point of contact for Employees that have questions about repairs to Fleet Vehicles 
  • Ensure returned vehicles are serviced and readied for future dispatch 
  • Utilize and navigate Enterprise Fleet software program for record keeping (repair/maintenance costs, etc.) and utilize the information to informed decisions regarding the fleet
    • Based upon the condition vehicles and company policy:
      • Make recommendations for new vehicle purchase 
      • Make repair vs. disposal recommendation 
  • Ensure vehicles are properly deployed, maintained, licensed and costed (overhead or job cost). 
  • Serve as a liaison between WA and Insurance Carrier on fleet vehicle accidents
    • Employee Accident/Vehicle Damage
    • Understand current procedure
    • Obtain quotes for vehicle & equipment damage
    • Oversee repairs 
  • Manage vehicle/equipment inventory across entire business unit utilizing CMiC or other approved equipment management tool(s). 
  • Oversee Fleet Admin to generate monthly billing reports for all assigned vehicles
  • Enforce preventative maintenance requirements
  • Ensure each vehicle is charged a monthly rental charge (overhead or job cost) 
  • Work with CFO for annual CAPEX budget on asset acquisitions and disposals 
  • Secure pricing for new vehicles when requested

Motorized Equipment and Owned Vehicles

  • Support the Depot Manager to implement and manage an Owned Tooling and Equipment Program 
  • In concert with the Depot Manager implement a tooling and equipment repair/preventative maintenance program. Ensure all required tool/equipment maintenance, certifications and testing are performed. 
  • Implement and maintain equipment tracking and record keeping process. (CMiC or other approved equipment management tool(s).) 
  • Maintain records for all required tool/equipment certifications and ensure they are communicated to project teams and properly documented
  • Ensure each dispatched equipment piece is charged a monthly rental charge (job cost) 
  • Annually review internal rental rates for owned equipment and make recommendations to keep rates current with market conditions. 
  • Ensure repairs are charged to the proper piece of equipment
  • In collaboration with the Depot Manager and based upon the condition of equipment: 
    • Make recommendations for new equipment purchases 
    • Make Repair vs. Disposal recommendations
  • Oversee Fleet Admin to generate monthly billing reports for all dispatched pieces of equipment
  • Coordinate the dispatching of equipment/vehicles to job efforts with the Depot Manager – record keeping to be done by Fleet Admin
  • Budget ownership to ensure that company owned assets are being utilized to their fullest capacity

 

 

National Rental Agreements

  • Manage and be the point of contact for the Walbridge National Rental Program 
  • With assistance from team, oversee the tracking of rentals from vendor portal 
  • Review system of rental invoice approval with Accounting 
  • Oversee rentals to optimize their use across the Enterprise 
  • Delegate team to schedule and track rentals of large equipment from approved sources of supply 
  • Work with Procurement and Accounting to ensure rental rebates are achieved

General

  • Manage and be the point of contact for the Walbridge Fleet Vehicle Program
  • Approval of all Vehicle/Walbridge Equipment Repairs (when not performed by Depot Mechanic) 
    • Make contact w/current repair Vendors(list is TBD) 
    • Analyze current vendors(price/service/quality) 
  • DOT/FMCSA 
  • Compliance 
  • Training
    . DVIR paper flow 
  • Driver introductions 
  • ELD – Electronic Logging Devices

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional training and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience overseeing fleet management, equipment maintenance and / or national rental agreements
  • Excellent Inter-personal skills, Organization skills, Strong Analytical Ability
  • Excellent communication skills - oral and written
  • Excellent PC skills, proficient in MS applications
