Overview

Manage business development activities for a prominent National constructor, leading their southeast Michigan commercial market segment. The Business Development Manager will provide direction and lead other functions within Walbridge to meet agressive growth goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop objectives and strategies in support of overall corporate business development goals in the assigned region.
  • Research and prioritize potential customers. 
  • Initiate and maintain client contact and build strong relationships.
  • Develop thorough understanding of client’s needs and procurement strategy
  • Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific targets.
  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations and brochure materials. Train and assist project personnel committed in proposals to make effective presentations.
  • Meet client’s needs prior to contract execution.  Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc. to prospective and current clients.
  • Assist management and estimating with sales process and final close.
  • Perform additional assignments as requested by the Vice President of Business Development.
  • Liaison with other Sales personnel throughout the Company to assure that the overall Walbridge message and identity is consistent across the Construction Enterprise. 

 

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree or equivalent combination of professional training and experience.
  • 10 or more years of relevant construction experience and must include a minimum of 2 years’ experience planning and implementing business development strategies, proposals and presentations.
  • Professional registration as PE and accreditation as a CPC or LEED AP desired.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills [both verbal and written] and the ability to lead the production of highly professional proposals and presentations.
  • Position highly visible to potential customers and requires ability to develop trust and relationships.  Quality of effort can greatly impact corporate image and workload.
